Automobiles have become the largest mobile device that most people will ever purchase. As automakers race out to roll out new features and functions to keep pace with consumer demands, they are rapidly embracing the concept of software-defined vehicles built on open source. Automotive Grade Linux (AGL), an open source software platform for connected car technology, has been working on software-defined vehicles for the past eight years. Dan Cauchy, Executive Director of AGL, will share how automakers, suppliers and vendors are collaboratively working on software-defined vehicles and have developed a shared platform for infotainment and instrument cluster applications.
