The public sector is embracing Open Source Software to foster innovation, sovereignty, and economic growth. To achieve these goals, public sector organizations are establishing support functions for OSS adoption, development, and collaboration. Although these functions may not always use the Open Source Program Office (OSPO) label, they aim to align OSS operations with organizational objectives as with their industry counterparts. However, little is known about public sector OSPO's organization and structure, and the challenges they face.
Join us for an insightful talk where we bring clarity to these questions through cases of OSPOs across the European public sector, varying in sizes, geographies, and levels of government. The talk will provide practical guidelines and recommendations for public sector organizations looking to establish their own OSPOs, so you can learn from the experiences of others and set your organization up for success in the world of Open Source.
