Lack of data coverage, quality, comparability and lack of non-black-box analytics for decision making are the largest barriers to closing the $5+ Trillion gap in annual finance and investment needed to achieve Paris Climate Accord goals. This session will present the OS-Climate Data Commons, Data Mesh, and Data Exchange being developed by Redhat as well as open source analytic tools for Physical Risk and Resilience, Sector Alignment of Investment Portfolios, and Transition Scenario Analysis being led by BNP Paribas, Allianz, and Capgemini respectively in collaboration with a growing ecosystem of financial and tech companies as well as government agencies, international institutions, and academia. Participants will also hear about projects leveraging these tools for public benefit, such as analyzing Agricultural Sector climate risk and resilience to ensure food security in Nigeria and other African countries.
