As sensitive workloads increasingly move to the cloud, ensuring their security and privacy is paramount. K8s has become a popular platform for deploying and scaling containerized workloads, but protecting sensitive workloads against potential threats remains a challenge. In this talk, we'll explore how K8s and confidential computing (CC) can be combined to provide a secure and scalable platform for running sensitive workloads. We'll first introduce the concept of CC and its various technologies for protecting data and computations, and then dive into practical approaches for scaling sensitive workloads using K8s and open source CC solutions. We'll provide an overview of several open source projects and platforms that can be used to implement CC on K8s. We'll then discuss the benefits and limitations of each approach, and provide real-world examples of how these technologies can be used to protect sensitive workloads in the cloud. By the end of this talk, attendees will have a solid understanding of how K8s and CC can be used together to provide a secure and scalable platform for sensitive workloads in the cloud. They'll also gain insights and tips on how to implement and manage these technologies using open source tooling.
