Thomas Steenbergen works on open source governance within organizations and open source security. He is a steering committee member and one of the co-founders/organizers of the European Chapter of the TODO group and co-founder of the OpenChain Automation Work Group - industry working groups where companies collaborate to address shared open source challenges. He is also an active contributor to the SPDX ISO specification for over 5 years, helping to better match what developers find in code and incorporate security (leading the Defects WG). He is also a core contributor to the OSS Review Toolkit (ORT), a tool to enable people to manage their (open source) software dependencies in a strategic, safe and efficient manner. When possible, he also contributes to Bitkom Open Source WG, FINOS Open Source Readiness, and OpenSSF’s SBOM everywhere. He lives in Berlin, Germany.
